Over two hundred women and girls came out to participate! We were grateful to have had

the opportunity to partner with local medical professionals and area leaders to carry out this

2-day workshop. Our hope to be able to return with more training and more Dignity Kits for the local girls and women.

In 2018, the Kenyan government created a policy to distribute free sanitary towels in public schools to all students, but the implementation has encountered difficulties, especially in remote regions such as Turkana. A 2024 report by Nation Africa highlights that the distribution of government-provided pads in Turkana County has been erratic and poorly coordinated. With the government failing to support these students, local CBO and NGO-led initiatives are offering solutions are crucial for filling the gap, allowing every girl to manage her menstruation with dignity, remain in school, and reach her full potential.
