Ateker Merciful Heart Advocacy Organisation proudly recognizes and appreciates the vital role played by women in pastoralist communities. These women demonstrate remarkable strength, resilience, and dedication in supporting their families and safeguarding their homes.
In many pastoralist families, men travel long distances with livestock in search of pasture and water. During this time, women remain behind with children and other family members, carrying the responsibility of maintaining the household. They build and manage temporary homes, care for the family, protect property, and ensure that daily life continues despite challenging environmental and social conditions.
These women are the backbone of their communities. Their hard work, courage, and commitment contribute greatly to the survival, stability, and cultural continuity of pastoralist societies.
Ateker Merciful Heart Advocacy Organisation honors and celebrates these women. We reaffirm our commitment to advocate for their empowerment, recognition, protection, and access to opportunities that improve their wellbeing and strengthen their role in community development.
We call upon partners, leaders, and stakeholders to support and uplift pastoralist women, whose contributions are essential for resilient families and sustainable communities.
