Vanice Nyanga Ekaru helps lead a training against gender-based violence (GBV) in Lokitaung, where she was able to help girls who face the same challenges she once did. Vanice shares with us that she is driven by a passion to see that every girl has the right to grow, to learn, and to dream, and is free from the chains of child marriage and abuse.
Gender-based violence (GBV) is often driven by deep-rooted patriarchy, poverty, and harmful practices like early marriage. Reported cases of child marriage, abuse, and physical violence, often targeting women and children are leading to more prosecutions, thanks to the work of Child Protection Services and individuals like Vanice.
